“Contemplation” is a small book that contains spiritual poems for reflection and poems for everyday life. It covers the topics of reverence, prophecy, stewardship, and other themes which influence the spiritual growth of an individual. The poems are written as counsel, appealing to be mini-sermonettes to guide the2individual. The book contains an interesting paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 13, considered to be the love chapter in the Bible. It also addresses the topics of death, Lucifer, the fallen angel from heaven, and the prodigal son, all topics derived from the writer’s connection with the Bible. The book contains 94 pages.
“Poems to Ponder”, subtitled as Poems with a Message, contain inspirational poems as well as poems for today, topics taken from everyday life and experiences. Topics include Unity in Diversity, What Are You Worth, The Cost of Discipleship, Luther, and others. The book uses regular rhyme and rhythm in most of the poems. An amusing longer poem in the book in the Poems for Today section is the “Saga of Abbott, the Rabbit, and poems about Mother. The book contains 207 pages.
“From Where I Stand” is a book that was written following the incident of 911, which has a section of poems dedicated to that event, titled 911: A Tribute. It contains a plethora of poems on a variety of topics ranging from reflections on life, romance and family, nature, and Christmas. Poems in the family section ae some of which could be read for baby showers. The poem, At the Cross, became the inspiration for the writing of the words to accompany the music of The Holy City, which were then titled At Calvary. This production can be viewed on You Tube, and is performed by Emily Andres. The book contains 235 pages.
“Words for the Soul’ contains a first section of poems titled A Wake-up Call, intended to make the reader aware of the current important events and transactions which affect one’s spiritual view and the future. It is followed by Poems for Meditation, which also includes the words to a new song written by the author, titled No Friend Like Jesus. Sandra’s other poem, “At the Cross” was put to the music of “The Holy City”, which was then titled, “At the Cross”, now viewed on
You Tube. Other Sections are Poems for Everyday and Christmas. The book contains 224 pages.
“Words for the Wise” contains the three sections of Inspirational, Poems for Every Day, and Christmas. The Inspirational section contains poems about Judas, the betrayer of Christ, Stewardship, Church and State, The Sanctuary, and The Sabbath among others. The Poems for Every Day addresses rights, bitterness, and America Astray, as well as Roe Vs. Wade and Us, all pertinent poems regarding attitudes and results. A brief section of Christmas poems is included. The book contains 181 pages. Cover Art is by the author.
“Viewpoint”, subtitled Poems With a Message, contains a special section titled In the Valley, which contains poems that are useable for memorial services for those who have passed, along with the usual sections of Poems for Every Day, Romance and Family, Inspirational, and Christmas. It contains the poems Suffering, An Undercover Christian, Nature of Christ, Katrina, and Resurrection. New Year’s Challenge is the last poem in the book, directing the reader toward the spiritual challenges of the coming year. The book is written in regular rhyme and rhythm and contains 184 pages.
“Perspective” is a collection of poems with the two sections of Reflections on Life and Family and Inspirational Poems. The book contains 107 pages. The poems, Pastor’s Work and Song of Mary and Joseph appear in the inspirational poems, as well as Queen Esther, God’s Day, and His Robe or Mine. The Family section contains a description of Shingles, drawn from the author’s experience, Home School, Retirement, and Gracious Redeemer, which was written to replace the words to the music of Ave Maria, in honor of Jesus, the Son of God. All poems are written in regular rhyme and rhythm.
“Reflections”, Poems with a Message, contains 120 pages of poems in the three sections of Inspirational, Poems for Every Day, and Christmas. Topics covered are Gethsemane, God’s Holy Law, Lessons from the Book of Job, The Night Before Doomsday, The Spirit of Compromise, Message in the Stars, and Thy Mystery of Godliness. Poems for Every Day include the topics of Mother, Father, When Calls the Heart, Winter Solstice, and Prejudice. The Christmas section features the poem Star of the Morning and One Starlit Night. Cover contains artwork of the author, picturing a local golf course.
“The Lighthouse” is the most recent book published by the author. It contains devotional, inspirational poems containing regular rhyme and rhythm. Some topics addressed are A Time for Judgment, Search for Truth, Secrets Revealed, Compromise, Humility, I will Rise, New Normal, Rules of Engagement, and many other pertinent topics which affect life today. The topic of Once Saved, Always Saved is challenged in this poem. The book can be used as a devotional book for home worship periods. The book contains 161 pages, and the cover contains a painting of a famous lighthouse by the author.
